Namibia
Red dunes, ghost towns, desert-adapted elephants — Namibia's quietest corners.
Why Namibia.
Namibia is a self-drive country. Long tarmac, empty horizons, and a landscape that changes every 200 kilometres. Sossusvlei's red dunes, the Skeleton Coast's shipwrecks, Etosha's waterhole game drives, Damaraland's desert elephants — each deserves its own week.
We typically run Namibia over 12–16 days with a mix of self-drive and light-aircraft transfers. It works beautifully as the African trip for people who have already done East Africa.
The headline experiences
Sossusvlei
The world's highest dunes, rising from a dead-pan of ancient trees. Best photographed at sunrise.
Etosha National Park
A salt pan the size of a small country, with waterhole-centred game viewing in the dry season.
Damaraland
Desert-adapted elephants, rhinos and San rock art in a red-rock landscape unlike anywhere else.
Skeleton Coast
A long, lonely coast of wrecks and seal colonies. Best accessed by fly-in camp.

Namibia FAQ
Is Namibia good for self-drive?↓
One of the best countries in the world for it — quiet roads, good fuel network, reliable rental 4x4s. We pre-book routes, lodges and fly-in legs.
How does Namibia compare to Botswana?↓
Namibia is landscape-led, Botswana is wildlife-led. Namibia is more affordable and self-drivable; Botswana is richer in big-game density. They combine well.
How long do I need in Namibia?↓
Minimum 10 days. 14–18 is ideal for Sossusvlei, Damaraland, Etosha and the coast.
Are the dunes really the highest in the world?↓
Some of them — Big Daddy at Sossusvlei is 325m, Dune 7 near Walvis Bay is 388m. The air is dry, so climbs feel hotter than they look.
