Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be warmly welcomed by our Worldwide Safaris team and transferred to your comfortable accommodations in Arusha. Take some time to rest, acclimate to the altitude, and prepare for your upcoming adventure. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner and briefing from your expert guides, setting the stage for your Kilimanjaro trek.
After breakfast, we'll drive to Rongai Gate, the starting point of your Kilimanjaro trek. The trail ascends through pine forests, offering glimpses of the Kenyan plains below. After a few hours of hiking, you'll reach Simba Camp, your first overnight stop, nestled amongst the trees.
Today's hike takes you through moorland and alpine desert terrain, as you gradually ascend towards Second Cave Camp. The scenery is starkly beautiful, with unique flora and fauna adapted to the high altitude. You'll enjoy dinner and a well-deserved rest at Second Cave Camp, surrounded by the tranquility of the wilderness.
This is an acclimatization day, with a gentle hike towards Kikelewa Camp. The trail offers stunning views of Mawenzi Peak, Kilimanjaro's second-highest peak. You'll have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area and prepare for the next day's challenges.
Today's hike takes you through alpine desert and moorland terrain, as you ascend towards Mawenzi Tarn Camp. The scenery is dramatic, with towering cliffs and unique rock formations. You'll enjoy dinner and a peaceful night's rest at Mawenzi Tarn Camp, with Mawenzi Peak looming in the background.
The trail continues through the alpine desert, as you ascend towards Kibo Hut. The landscape becomes increasingly barren, but the views of the glaciers and ice fields are simply awe-inspiring. Upon arrival at Kibo Hut, you'll have an early dinner and rest before your final push to the summit.
Summit day begins before dawn, with a challenging climb to Uhuru Peak. As you ascend, you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise over the African plains. After celebrating your incredible achievement at the summit, you'll descend to Horombo Hut, via Kibo, where you'll enjoy a well-deserved rest.
On your final day of trekking, you'll descend through the rainforest, following the Marangu route to Marangu Gate. After saying goodbye to your porters and guides, you'll be transferred back to Arusha, where you can relax and reflect on your amazing journey.
