Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll be warmly welcomed by our Worldwide Safaris team and transferred to your comfortable accommodations in Moshi. Take some time to rest, finalize your preparations for the trek, and ensure you're well-rested for the challenging journey ahead. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner and briefing from your expert guides, outlining the upcoming Kilimanjaro adventure.
After breakfast, we'll drive to Umbwe Gate, the starting point of your Kilimanjaro trek. Unlike other routes, you'll immediately face a steep ascent through the rainforest. The trail winds through dense vegetation, with occasional glimpses of the summit in the distance. You'll reach Umbwe Cave Camp in the afternoon, enjoying dinner and a restful night under the stars.
Today's hike is a challenging ascent through the moorland zone, with steep slopes and rugged terrain. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. You'll reach Barranco Camp in the late afternoon, where you'll have a hearty dinner and prepare for the next day's challenges.
Prepare for a thrilling climb up the Barranco Wall, a steep but rewarding section of the trek. The trail then descends into the Karanga Valley, where you'll find Karanga Camp. Enjoy a well-deserved rest and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Today's hike takes you through alpine desert terrain, as you ascend towards Barafu Camp. The landscape becomes increasingly barren, but the views of the glaciers and ice fields are simply awe-inspiring. Upon arrival at Barafu Camp, you'll have an early dinner and rest before your final push to the summit.
Summit day begins before dawn, with a challenging climb to Uhuru Peak. As you ascend, you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise over the African plains. After celebrating your incredible achievement at the summit, you'll descend to Mweka Camp, where you'll enjoy a well-deserved rest.
On your final day of trekking, you'll descend through the rainforest, retracing your steps to Mweka Gate. After saying goodbye to your porters and guides, you'll be transferred back to Moshi, where you can relax and reflect on your amazing journey.
